Maui!!

Well, as previously mentioned, Jamin and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary in January. I've always wanted to go to Hawaii, so we decided awhile back that we would do that to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We are lucky enough to have my mom close who was willing to take the kids for the full 9 days that we were gone. Maui was absolutely amazing. It was sunny and warm the whole time. The beaches and water were so beautiful and it was awesome to get to spend so much time just for us. Our hotel was beautiful. We went snorkeling a ton, tried to learn to surf (banged my knee up pretty good in the process!), went to a luau, went out on a sailboat to Lana'i, one of the islands off Maui, and checked out all the beaches. We didn't do the Road to Hana. We had mixed feelings about it. It sounded beautiful, but it was a full day of driving there and back and we just didn't want to spend a whole day in the car- maybe next time! ;) We absolutely loved Maui. Missed the kids a lot, but it was an absolutely great trip and I can't wait to go back! Warning: lots of pictures ahead!

The view from our hotel room.
Loved the sunsets there!
The Feast at Lele luau- absolutely awesome luau!
My amazing hubby- I love him so much!
Honalua Bay- still, beautiful water. It was perfectly green. Great snorkeling there.
There's my guy surfing!
Oh, yeah, there's me too. :)
Makena Beach- kind of a special name to me, only some may know why. Beautiful beach!

We got to see a ton of dolphins from the boat we took to Lana'i. It was awesome!

Here's a sea turtle we tried to make friends with! We swam with him for at least 10 minutes. Definitely one of the coolest things snorkeling!
Here he is after going to the surface to take a breath. I really loved the sea turtle if you couldn't tell!

Kinsley 18 months

I took Kinsley in for her 18 month pictures (ok, it was more like 20 months...). I had just planned on getting 2 different pictures. Kinsley initially didn't want to cooperate, but the photographers were really good and Kinsley really warmed up to them. So, needless to say, they got a ton of good pictures and I couldn't decide between them all. So I walked out with more than I had planned (cause that's never happened before :)).

Much Needed Update!

So, I think it's been well established that I am a horrible blogger. When I have free moments, I don't like to spend tons of them on the computer! But, I figured it's time to do a little updating! Everything is going well in the Roth house. It's warm today, and I'm hoping that spring is finally here to stay (and to soon turn to summer)! Jamin and I celebrated our 10th anniversary in January and to commemorate, we took a trip to Hawaii last week, which was unbelievably amazing, but more on that in another post. The kids are doing fantastic. Emma turned 8 in February and was baptized! Such a special experience to have my oldest child baptized. I can't believe she's already 8- where does the time go?! She is in 2nd grade and loving it. She is becoming quite the little reader and is frequently found with a book in her hands (yes, just a little like her mommy!). She is playing soccer this spring. She has fun when she's playing, and really is good and tries hard, but I don't think it's going to be her favorite thing. Sydney is loving 1st grade. She is quite the little social butterfly, always bringing home phone numbers of friends and wanting to get together with them! She is also quite the little reader, but doesn't enjoy it to the level of her big sis. Syd played soccer last fall, but is wanting to get back into gymnastics now. Nicholas is going to start preschool in the fall. He is so excited to go to school like sisters! He still gets a little bored during the day while they're at school, so a few mornings of preschool will be great for him. He is a very sweet boy, always wanting to help mommy throughout the day. And he does love to play (and sometimes torment) his little sister! Kinsley is getting so big! She'll be 2 in August which I can't believe and just makes me want to cry! She is a lovable little sweetie. She loves to give kisses and cuddle and is really getting more into talking. She always says "Lala" in response to I love you. The kids are all really great about playing together and having fun with each other. They get along pretty well, at least most of the time! Here's some pictures of us recently!

Kinsley's 1!

I wanted to put stuff up about my sweet baby's birthday, but first we were all sick and then it took me awhile to get my camera downloaded. So here we are! August 15th was Kinsey's first birthday. I can't believe she's already 1! The last year has gone by so fast! She has been such a sweet and fun addition to our family! She is always smiling and laughing. She is very lovable and cuddly. Kinsley loves all her siblings and is so patient with all the "love" she recieves in return! She finally learned to crawl at just over 11 months and I've seen her pull up to standing just a few times. She knows that her 3 big sibs will bring her whatever she needs and that mommy will pick her up when she cries, so why does she need to move? One of these days she'll walk, but I'm pretty content with her staying a baby a little while longer :)! Kinsley wasn't feeling great on her birthday, but she still had a good time. She loved the presents and even got the hang of opening them! By cake time though, she wasn't feeling great and didn't know what to think. She didn't really know what to do with the whole cake in front of her. She was better with a small piece and she LOVED the ice cream (definitely takes after her mom and dad!) It was a fun day, although a little sad for me as my baby isn't as much a baby anymore! It's so fun to see her personality progress as she grows! Happy Birthday sweet baby girl!

She really wanted that toy out of there!

Summer Fun!

It's been a fun summer! We've camped, gone to the zoo, the beach, gone swimming, played in the sprinkler, played with friends, and just hung around the house. It'll be a nice change for the girls to go back to school, although it really makes me sad. I'll miss having them around! Nicholas will especially miss them! I don't think he'll know what to do without them home! Here are some pictures of our summer activities!

Fun on the playset!

For Christmas some of the wonderful grandparents chipped in and got a play structure for the backyard. Then came all the work of tilling and leveling an area to set it up. Luckily the kids have a great daddy that worked for weeks preparing the play structure! After all the work its finally done and the kids are loving it! It's so nice to be able to have them go outside and play and run off some energy! Here are some pictures of the kids enjoying their new toy right after it was all set up.

Just some new pictures!

I know its been awhile (again!), so here's some pictures of this last couple months of the kiddos. Everyone is doing great- really looking forward to summer and warm weather (hopefully!) and spending time with the kids! School is great for Emma and Sydney, Nicholas is growing up even more and Kinsley is getting bigger every day! I know there's a long list of pics, but like I said, it's been awhile! :)

My mom took a couple of days off during spring break so that we could do something with the kids. We went to the Kids Club in Vancouver one day and then to the Children's Museum the next. This is a picture from the Kids Club. It was fun to get out and do stuff with them.

Sydney had a special thing at school for Mother's Day and I got the pleasure of receiving a make-over from her! She did a fantastic job! (I was sure to wash my face before venturing to the store that day! :))
